Steelers week 1 HNC Central Review
Game 1 – Carnegie Steelers Vs Grangemouth Broncos
The 1st game saw the Steelers come up against a well drilled Grangemouth Broncos team and for the 1st half the Steelers never turned up with throwing back to back interceptions and missing tackles and things weren’t going right for them. Trailing 42-0 at half time but after the half time they managed put the 1st half behind and came as a new team. The defence came out strong and starting stopping the Broncos offence and #81 Grieg Reid getting an interception on an extra point play. The Steelers offence started moving the ball well and eventually got the 1st touchdown of the season from #5 Fraser Reid to Steelers rookie #88 Brandon Lamb but unfortunately never got the extra point. 55-6 being final score a much improved 2nd half for the Steelers.
Game 2 – Carnegie Steelers Vs Dunbeth Dragons
Next up for the Steelers was the Dunbeth Dragons the last time these teams met the Dragons were victorious and went to the play off instead of the Steelers. The 1st half was a close and back and forth half with the dragons ahead going into the half time with the score at 13- Dragons 18.the 1st Steelers touchdown was #5 Frasier Reid to #88 Brandon Lamb for his 2nd touchdown of the day but the missed the extra point. 2nd touch was #5 Frasier Reid to #12 Peter Alison and the extra point was good from #5 Frasier Reid to #88 Brandon Lamb. The 2nd half was just as close as the 1st but unfortunately the Dragons extended their lead with the final score being Dragons 31-20 Steelers. The last touchdown was #5 Frasier Reid to #25 Chan Phung who also got the extra point. For the defence Steelers rookie #8 Kyle Mccallum had 2 sacks and 1 TFL by #54 Grant Hill. Overall it wasn’t the best start the Steelers wanted but its back to the training and prepare for the next games they have in 2 weeks
